Visiting Great Grandma Bea...

Larkyn and I made a trip to Austin to see my Great Grandma, who spent some time in the hospital over the past couple weeks. Great Great Grandma Bea (to Larkyn) will be 95 in September and one of the biggest warriors I have ever known! She is the rock behind the Sheedy family and has created quite the faithful foundation for all of us. After battling through some tough days and nights in the hospital, Grandma Bea pulled through once again and was transferred to a local nursing home where she continues to get stronger by the day.

While visiting Grandma Bea, we were blessed with the opportunity to see and spend some time with some of our wonderful friends and family that came from all over to check in on her as well. The "parade of love" (all of Gram's visitors) was just what Grandma needed to kick the illness and stay with us for a little longer:).

I met up with my mom and sisters at my godmother's (Beth) house. This is Larkyn with Lauren, Nathan and Peyton.

Larkyn also got to see Aunt Sue and meet Aunt Helen for the first time as well.

Cousin Todd flew in from Virginia. He, and is wife Rachel, are expecting a baby in December!

Larkyn kept gripping on to Grandma's fingers with her toes and Grandma was quite impressed with her happy personality. She also said that Larkyn has quite the belly on her and probably should start dieting:) That is coming from the same woman that once told me Larkyn was lucky to have a "healthy heifer for a mom"!

Later in the week, we were able to see our cousins Jennifer and Scott as they came through on their quest around the US.

Cousin Kristina was also back from Portland for a few days too!

A trip to Grandmas...

This past weekend we made a road trip to Wisconsin Rapids to see Grandma Janny, Grandpa Charlie, Aunt May May and Great Grandma Sis. We were also hoping to see Mandy, Jared and Diesel, but unfortunately Diesel was not feeling well. Hopefully we can see them soon!

We spent the weekend relaxing, shopping, eating, having some cocktails, and did I mention shopping?:) Janny, Megan and I spotted the yellow dot sale at Younkers. We'll just leave it at that! The weekend was very low key, which allowed us to spend some quality time together.

Larkyn didn't sleep very well in her pack n play on Friday night. She has been scooting her knees under her bottom and scootching around her crib lately. She ended up scooting into the corner of her pack n play and trapping herself. Needless to say she kept waking up as she butted her head up against the side. Larkyn was up by 5:30, but ended up falling back to sleep in our bed until 9:00!

These are the $3.00 shoes that Aunt May May twisted my arm to buy for Larkyn! She didn't have to twist too hard...how could I resist?:)

We went over to Sis' house to show her some of the outfits we bought at Younkers. Larkyn had to try on her new hat! Can't wait to see her in the whole outfit next summer:)

The new drink of the summer is "Beergaritas". (12 oz. limeade concentrate, 12 oz. water, 12 oz. beer, 12 oz. tequila-mixed and served on the rocks!) Janny, Megan, Shea and I had a couple of them after Larkyn and Charlie went to bed. That is when the party really began...

Megan told us that it was Siamese Twin night at Whoudini's, a bar across the backyard from Janny and Charlie's house. So we decided it might be fun to give the Siamese Twin thing a try!

We cut an old sweatshirt and after some squishing and pushing, I made it through!

We even got our legs in a pair of pants together!

When we got to the bar everyone was pretty impressed that we actually came as Siamese twins. The first thing someone said to us when we walked in was "Those are the biggest boobs I've ever seen!" Shea was such a trooper through all of it!

Daddy's projects...

Shea had the 5th and 6th off and was able to cross a couple of our "house projects" off the list while he was home. He added shelves above our garage door for additional storage and hung a swing for Larkyn on top of edging, trimming and mowing the lawn of course!

Our neighbors gave us a swing to borrow, so Shea hung it from the ceiling in our garage. It is a perfect place for Larkyn to hang out while we are grilling this summer. She seems to like it and got quite comfortable in it! Our neighbor came over to visit Larkyn and enjoyed playing with her as she sat in her swing.

Shea is putting the finishing touches on the shelves. Our hope is to go through and move some of our boxes to our new shelves in the garage so we can begin finishing our basement.

The shelves extend the length of our garage, which gives us quite a bit of space.

Larkyn's first Independence Day...

I can't believe the 4th of July has already come and gone! This summer is going way too fast! We spent the weekend here at home, which turned out to be a fabulous time. Shea ran a half marathon on Sunday morning in Minneapolis. Larkyn and I were hoping to get to the race to cheer him on, but it was a 6:30 AM start and raining! Larkyn ended up sleeping in until 9:00 AM and Shea got home 10 minutes later! We were bummed to have missed his race, but hope to see him run again at the Twin Cities Marathon in October.

We spent the remainder of the day shopping, running errands and taking a family nap! Later that evening we went over to Mike, Katie and Luke's for dinner and fireworks. It was very relaxing and great to get the babes together again. Larkyn was able to get in her evening nap and was quite the trooper for the remainder of the time. She fell asleep before the fireworks and slept the rest of the night! I was a little worried about the transfer from her car seat to her crib, but she was awesome and went right back to sleep.
