We enjoyed the weekend in Wisconsin Rapids celebrating Cayden (March 4th), Larkyn (March 13th), and Shea's (April 3rd) birthdays. We began the weekend visiting Breally and Cayden at their new house. Breally was in the process of cleaning up her room, getting it ready to be painted, so we tried to help clean it up with her. Larkyn was a good help for awhile, but was more interested in opening up the bins and boxes and taking things out than putting things away!
Breally, her friend Kara, and Cayden joined us for lunch at Applebee's. May May and Art came too!
We missed Kiki at Larkyn's birthday party, so it was fun to see her for the weekend. Larkyn enjoyed showing her how her tea set works.
On Friday night after Larkyn went to bed the family showed their artistic side and each created a quilt square for Larkyn's birthday quilt. They all turned out great! Even Charlie's:) haha!
On Saturday, Kiki worked on an art project with Larkyn using dot paints. It was Larkyn's first time using dot paints and she was very interested in them.
She was even more excited when she got to hold it on her own! Thanks to Kiki's art project we have a beautiful dot painted picture framed in our living room.
Cayden, Shea and Breally getting ready for opening presents.
Cayden loved having Larkyn help open up some of his presents.
Larkyn loved having Cayden help her open her presents as well!
She got a lot of cute pajamas and dresses...
Thank you Kiki for the baby doll...
Shea and Cayden with their matching Packer salt and pepper shakers. Shea also got a really nice Brewer's long sleeve shirt from May May. He LOVES it!
Along with the Survivor themed birthday party, we had a mystery pizza dinner. May May and Kiki got pizzas from 4 different places without us know where they were from. We got to vote for our favorites and then guess which pizza place we thought it came from. Our favorite was from Rocky Rococo's.
Larkyn got her taste of pizza too!
After dinner we sang "Happy Birthday" and had some cake. Larkyn did not get a taste of the cake this time!
Time for bed! Larkyn spotted her daddy in the pictures above the bed. She kept climbing up to say "Dada!"
We continued the night by finishing up the last couple rounds of Survivor. Cayden won again...like usual. Maybe next time he will get blindsided in the first round! The rest of the night went well and we were all snug in bed by midnight. At 1:30 Sunday morning we woke up to Larkyn standing in her pack n play crying. Shea and I were sleeping in the room next door and were waiting to see if she would lay back down to sleep as we watched her on the monitor. After louder screams I decided to go check on her. I knew as soon as I opened the door we had a sick little girl. This is the first time Larkyn has gotten sick with a stomach bug. We got her out of her clothes and tried to take her temperature but she wasn't very excited about that. She didn't feel warm at all though she was quite clammy in her pjs. We put her in the bathtub to clean her up. She seemed in good spirits and didn't appear to be too sick. By this time Janny, May May, Charlie and Breally were up and we were racking our brains on what might be causing her upset tummy. A couple of us had a stomach ache Saturday night and thought it might be the pizza we ate. Larkyn had eaten quite a bit for dinner the night before. She had some pizza, veggies, fruit, and a lot of milk for dinner. Or it was just the flu. There is plenty of that going around! After a nice warm bath, a change of clothes, and a small gathering loving on Larkyn we tried to lay back down with her. For awhile she was laying between Shea and me and then showed interest in breastfeeding. After eating Larkyn seemed like she was going to passout! Instead Larkyn threw up more! So she was definitely not able to keep anything down that she just ate. It was around 3:30 a.m. when we made the decision to pack up and head back home to Minnesota. None of us were getting any sleep and we hoped that Larkyn could fall asleep in the car. We were on the road by 20 after 4 and Larkyn was asleep within minutes. She stayed asleep for an hour and woke just before 5:30 kind of squirming and crying. Luckily I was awake with a bucket in hand because the poor girl got sick again! She ended up having a stomach bug and was out of commission for a good couple of days, though the throwing up only lasted for 12 hours. That is something I don't want to go through again for a very long time!
