Maddux through the months

Maddux turned 6 months this past week. It is so hard to believe it has been 6 months since this little (big) guy came into our lives.  He is such a good baby, with a lot of smiles and giggles to share.  We took him for his 6 month well check today and he weighed in at 19 lbs even.  I thought for sure he was over 20, but he surprised us!  19 lbs is apparently only the 75th percentile for weight, which fits proportionately with his 27.5 inch long body, also 75th percentile. His head on the other hand is in the 90th percentile still, but we just attribute that to his big and growing brain!

Maddux is rolling to get everywhere, though he has done some reaching and moving forward recently.  His sisters are working to keep their little toys out of reach, as well as anything they don't want in his mouth.  He is not eating solid foods consistently yet, because the few times we have tried he has not shown much interest in it.  We began with oatmeal a couple weeks ago and he projectile vomit two days in a row.  We gave him a little break and then tried a green vegetable.  Currently, he is not a lover of food, other than Mama's milk which he likes to consume during the night now.  He went from sleeping 9 hours a stretch to waking up to eat almost every 3 to 4 hours...UGH!

Below are picture collages of Maddux in the last 6 months.  It is amazing to see how much he has grown and how his personality shines.  He truly brings smiles to our face every minute of every day.  He is a strong boy, that likes to stand on our lap, snuggle in for a hug, sit up for a story, play in his excersaucer, giggle with his sisters, and much more.  We are grateful for Maddux each and every day, and so thankful God blessed us with such a wonderful little boy.

Cupcakes!

The girls got to visit Scratch Cupcakery, where their aunt Courtney works. They got to go back behind the scenes and watch the bakers and frosters at work. They also got to decorate some cupcakes while they were back there. Lately, they have been busy putting together cupcake combinations using their Princess Cupcake game. Sometimes they pretend to be Courtney and Kat (my cousin that now works there too) at their own Scratch store. Thank you to Courtney for making this tour happen!

Look out Kindergarten...here she comes!

Larkyn had Passport to Kindergarten tonight. Though a little shy, she enjoyed looking around and checking out her new school. Her favorite part was for sure the bus ride. We couldn't get out there fast enough!

She enjoyed reading the word wall...especially the word "mom".

And they're off...

Day 3 of a 2 wheeler for Larkyn and a big girl bike for Camdyn was a success! We rode/walked to the nearby church parking lot this evening to spread out and try the riding thing again. Larkyn turned the corner into the parking lot and the rest is history.  She did so well as she went up and down and all around the lot. When we got home she showed us her risky side by going up and down our driveway with ease.  We are so very proud of her and her willingness to give it a try and she absolutely loves it!

Here is a peek at her riding..

We are also very proud of Camdyn and her determination to ride her bike. She rode all the way to the parking lot and back tonight. She is getting stronger each day with her pedaling.

A Saturday Evening Bike Ride

It was a beautiful day Saturday for a family bike ride. It was Maddux's first time in the Burly and he sat in it so well!  He even took a short nap. Camdyn was a great big sister and helper.

Larkyn was a bit hesitant to ride on the bike trailer. Last year she was very scared and refused to try.  This year, after a little coaching,  we convinced her that she should at least give it a try down the sidewalk.  After one trip down the path she was squealing with excitement, "I love doing this!" So we proceeded to take a trip around the block and then around the neighborhood.  When we got back home she was so excited that she wanted Shea to take off her training wheels.

Happy 3rd Birthday Camdyn!

Camdyn Jean turned three on Saturday, the 21st, though she has been acting like three for awhile now. She is growing up so fast! Camdyn's newest developments include; singing real and made up songs, reading books, coloring and drawing pictures, playing house and school on the steps, and trying to spell words. She is able to spell her name verbally, as well as Larkyn and Maddux.

Camdyn is a very sweet little girl who makes us laugh daily. She says some of the funniest things and has a memory like no other! She is a great helper and loves to help around the house. One thing unique to Camdyn is that she really doesn't like pants or long sleeves. During the coldest days of winter you might find her in a tank top and shorts, or just a tank top! When it comes to clothes, she is all about simple unlike her older sister, Miss Fashionista!

She opened up a Paw Patrol movie which was great for the road trip to Wisconsin.
Camdyn also got a ticket to Frozen on Ice for April.
And a Sofia the First dress!
This is Camdyn practicing her letters. She has really gotten into writing lately!
We celebrated Cayden, Larkyn and Camdyn's birthdays at Janny's. They ate Camdyn's favorite, baked oatmeal, for breakfast.
Her newest hobby is pretending she is singing at church.
We finally lit her birthday candle and watched it burn down to the 3!
