A visit to see Great Great Grandma Bea...

On Sunday, we made a trip down to Austin, Minnesota to visit Great Great Grandma Bea. She has been looking forward to meeting Larkyn for quite some time and taking a 5 generation picture together. Larkyn was bright-eyed and alert for her visit and enjoyed conversation with Grandma Bea.:) We enjoyed hearing about how so much has changed since she's had her 5 daughters. She said she had to stay in bed for 8 days after delivery before getting up and moving around! YIKES! We also enjoyed seeing Mary, Joe, and Kristina who came down to visit as well. My mom and grandma and grandpa also came up in order to be a part of the photo.

"So Grandma, tell me more about life on the farm!"

This is the 5 beautiful ladies getting ready for our photo shoot! Joe took many pictures and we're anxiously awaiting to get them back!
My godmother Beth and her daughter Paiton stopped by to sneak a peek at Larkyn!
Cousin Kristina got a chance to bond with little Larkyn

This time Larkyn was a little more calm for the 4 generation photo with Grandma Debbie and Great Grandpa Ralph.

Larkyn's 1st Bottle...

We gave Larkyn her first bottle this past weekend. Daddy and Larkyn were able to share this first experience together. We were a little unsure how she would do, but the second the milk touched her tongue she sucked it down quickly! Shea gave her a bottle on Monday night when I was out with the neighbor gals for ladies night and she took to it very well again. Though the look on her face is more like "hmm...this is different!" she really seems to do well with it!

Easter Sunday...

Larkyn's first Easter started out with a bang...literally! She had just finished eating and I was changing her diaper in order to get her ready for church. I thought she had completed her "duty" but I thought wrong! Just as I lifted her bottom a little to wipe she gave a good push and shot poop all over my shirt and pants. Good thing I wasn't in my church clothes yet! Though we call her our "little super pooper", I was quite surprised she could shoot that far! Needless to say I now make sure there is a shield up at all times! Luckily for all of us, she was not in her Easter dress yet! She wasn't quite sure what to think about her outfit and big flower headband.

Our first Easter as a family of 3!

We met up with McKenna and Krista at church for more pictures. Look closely at the next couple of pictures. McKenna reached out to hold Larkyn's hand. She was already letting her know that they would be friends!

A visit with the Easter Bunny...

We took Larkyn to meet the Easter bunny! We met up with Larkyn's new friend McKenna, who was visiting the Easter bunny for the first time too! McKenna was born in October and is the daughter of Krista and Matt. Krista and I have been good friends since early elementary school. It was fun to see them and we look forward to many play dates together in the future!

Easter weekend...

We made it through our first road trip together with Larkyn. She traveled so well! Larkyn slept the entire way (3 hours) down to Cedar Falls. We arrived with enough time to hang out and enjoy dinner with our family before heading to Good Friday service at church to listen to Aunt Courtney give her faith talk. Courtney did a fabulous job even though Larkyn slept through it all!

Saturday night we celebrated Courtney, Luke and Shea's birthday with our family at Texas Roadhouse. Tradition at Texas Roadhouse is to ride the saddle on your birthday while we all give a big "Yeehaw"! Courtney and Luke celebrated their 18th birthday, while Shea celebrated his 32nd!

Larkyn's (2nd) cousins were so excited to finally meet her and hold her!

Miss Busy Body is 3 weeks old...

Miss Larkyn is 3 weeks old! She is beginning to settle into a routine and is sleeping 4-6 hour stretches at night! I love it! Larkyn is also our little mover. She is constantly moving her arms, legs, butt, etc. If we are holding her on our chest, she will push her feet up on our arms and inch her knees up to her chest. Larkyn has also started turning her body while sleeping. You'll see pictures below of her on Shea's chest. She started vertical on his chest and inched her way diagonal within a couple minutes of cuddling with her daddy! We also have put her down in her pack n' play the long way to find that she scooted her bottom around and ended up turning 90 degrees the other way!

Doctor visit today...

Larkyn had another weight check today with Dr. Mitha. Before the visit Daddy guessed she would weigh 8 lbs. 4 oz. Mommy guessed 8 lbs. 3 oz. Guess who was right? Mommy, of course:) Now that Larkyn has climbed back up and beyond her birth weight, she is finally done with doctor visits until her 2 month check up. She also had to get her Hep B shot today because she didn't get it in the hospital. Oh my goodness, I don't know how many of those I can take! I was doing well holding her until the needle entered her leg and I saw the fear appear on her face and the "help me" cry in her voice. Thank goodness Mommy and Daddy were there to comfort her (and each other-tears in all of our eyes!). She calmed down quickly, ate, and went right to sleep. We'll see how the rest of her day goes!
